About Cape-To-Cape Foundation

Cape-To-Cape Foundation was formed out of the recognition that the lack of quality education is at the heart of Liberia’s problems, and the realization that the country can be rebuilt and developed only through the development of its human potential.

Though the war ended in 2003, Liberia remains in deep poverty and deprivation. Unemployment is estimated at over 60 percent; the illiteracy rate is even higher. The youth of Liberia, who were used as child soldiers by all of the factions in the conflict, have no educational opportunities. Most school buildings remain in disrepair. Even the University of Liberia, the only public institution of higher learning, is barely functioning.

The greater majority of youths, who are unquestionably the future of our country, have no access to educational opportunities. They are wasting away before our very eyes.

It is in recognition of this painful reality that Cape-To-Cape Foundation was founded as a non-profit public charity with open membership to ALL Liberians from Cape Mount to Cape Palmas, and everywhere in-between. Membership is also extended to non-Liberian nationals who would like assist our country through The Foundation.

We are a non-political, non-tribal and non-religious organization with the sole objective of promoting education in Liberia.
